I want to copy my Fritz7 database (fritz7.cbh) to hard disk and run it form there. However it does not seem to open the database from Fritz when I do that.
Is it some sort of security issue whereby you have to run it from the CD all the time?

Do File/Open/Database, with your CD in the drive. Then, from the database window, do File/Open/Database again, and it will let you browse to the new location. It seems to insist on opening the last database it used, before it lets you open a new one, so in the future, it will default to your hard drive version.

Thanks for that Gyr but it still does not seem to work.
The fritz database is 16Mb and called fritz7.cbh.
I assume that is the database and not the openings tree book

Did you copy all the files to your hard drive? You need all the files named fritz7.cb*, not just the cbh.

Sorted
If you open a database then go to the Tools option there is a copy database to hard disk option. You only see it when a database is open though.
And yes, it copies a lot of files, not just the fritz7.cbh file

Cheers
