Simple question, guys: Is there a difference between Fritz 8 and Fritz 8 Deluxe? If so, is the difference appreciable? I found Fritz 8 Deluxe for $28 and Fritz 8 for $20. So they're probably different, but how different? I'm leaning towards the $20 model. Mistake? Thanks.

Check on the chessbase site. Maybe they have some info. I'd probably go with the more expensive one. It's only $ 8 more.

For what it's worth, I have F8, and no complaints! 🙂

Yes, I am. The system requirements on 9 will stretch my computer's capabilities. And, I'm looking for the best value for the least amount of money, and so am leaning towards Fritz 8.

Its just $8 more. Think about all the stuff your missing going with the regular stuff. Its like buying a car without a cd player when its just $8 more.

I recall reading some time ago that Fritz 8 deluxe wad the ritz 8.5 version that played Kasparov in the X3D match a few years ago--the last time I watched chess on ESPN.
