I just finished this 20/20 game on ICC.

Interestingly, I found several similiar games, but all played 18.bxc3. However, I think my idea was just as good.

    Any comments?

Your idea isn't equal. It is much better! 🙂 Unless there's some ingenious defense I'm missing 18.g5 is outright winning.

I don't understand the H pawn march, you don't seem to get any compensation for losing it to the knight and the knight stays in a solid position.

I think it is to open the H-line for the white rooks

you need to open the H file, and the G pawn comes up with an extra tempo.

    16...Nxe4! 12...h5! Or 12...Qa5!

I would also like to point out that 23.Kd1 forces mate. I'll leave you to figure that out... It's not too hard.

I don't see where the logic is in saying he doesn't get any compensation. After 12...Nc4?? I don't think black has any chances of winning once white blasts open the h-file.
