Interestingly, I found several similiar games, but all played 18.bxc3. However, I think my idea was just as good.
Any comments?

Any comments? Your idea isn't equal.It is much better! 🙂 Unless there's some ingenious defense I'm missing 18.g5 is outright winning.

I would also like to point out that 23.Kd1 forces mate. I'll leave you to figure that out... It's not too hard.

I don't see where the logic is in saying he doesn't get any compensation. After 12...Nc4?? I don't think black has any chances of winning once white blasts open the h-file.
