An opponent of mine _didn't_ do this once in a game he hadn't seen in a day or so and didn't realize that my N in the center of the board had just taken his N. He thought I had just moved there, so he didn't retake. A piece down, he bit himself on the rump and resigned a couple of moves later.
In principle, the only thing that should count in determining what move to make is the current board position. But humans aren't machines, and I find I like to back up a few moves on the analyze board, and then run it forward, as if to pick up on the 'flow' of the game--almost as if the game of chess has the attribute of momentum. 🙂
Thanks for ur input everyone, ur advice has been helping, even though i lost 6 games to time forfeit because i went on vacation :'( but since i have come back and started takin some notes and using the board analysis feature i have become much more comfortable with the games and plan to subscribe soon.
