I have been reading this forum since joining and I want to say, this has been the most interesting relating of experiences I have had the pleasure to read. Keep up the good work guys. Maybe we can get input of a similar nature from others. It is really nice to get some real life chess related experiences. Again; thanks for some very good reading.
In one of the last matches of the year in the playoffs I had another "OTB moment". I was already up a full rook, and I just needed to get to the end of the game without making a huge mistake, but I still managed to do just that. I wanted to develop a knight that still had not moved in this game, so I checked to see if the square I wanted to bring it to was guarded, and I saw her queen down the board, but somehow thought it was on a different file than my knight's square. So I moved my knight there, and she took it with check, forking my king and rook 🙁 Actually somehow I managed to win this game, after going from having a rook lead, to be trailing by a knight and 2 pawns, to winning with a queenside pawn storm, that she didn't defend against properly. But after getting up a rook on the 12th move, I made the win much harder than it should have been. 🙄
