This wasn't from RHP but if anyone could just take a quick look I'd be grateful... just wondering if the knight sac i played on move 4 was justifiable... i felt his h6 was just asking for it as after the moves on the score i had a lead in development and his king was displaced. but i'm not very good at chess so what do you think?

it was a nice move, I guess he didnt expect it.. because I think 7. ... Kf6 would keep the advantage for black.

Junior 9 liked your sac. And even after Kf6, he scores it even.

i've been reading bruce pandolfini's chess openings: traps and zaps where he constantly emphasises the importance of tempo so i guess thats what made me play it... it was blitz anyway (which would explain the many many inaccuracies) so i didn't worry about having to watch my position decline over a period of weeks=P

Yeah, Kf6 apparently is best for black, but I would have played d4 beacuse I needed to free my bishop anyway and after maybe 8. ... Nd7 9. or 8. ... c5, I wouldn't feel very comfortable playing black. Nd7 is the only logical move because 8. ...c5 9.Qf3 is just bad for black. So after Nd7 I guess I might still play Qf3 followed by Bd3. Actually come to think of it, Kf6 is kind of a blunder because after d4 the king is wide out in the open, black has almost no development, both his knights are blocked and white's knight on e5 keeps black's king from escaping. Of course, this is just my personal opinion...

how would you feel after 8. ... e6 ? the king is quite safe, then.

I'm not sure about this beacause I just woke up but g4 followed by f3 seems strong because the bishop has to guard f3.

A very exciting game! Well played. I agree, you were right to sac the knight after black's 5...h6. Black has to play 5...e6 there to make his problems go away.

Very nice sac on your part.

Here's another. Just ended today, was played on RHP. This one I think was less dubious... only 2 pawns for a piece and with an even greater initiative.

Game 994127

What do you think?
I just realised I'm chess blind. I could have simply taken the pawn for free. Oh well.
