Only what I've seen played against me or a few I've seen in the forums. I have about 8 more months in Iraq and would love to come home an 1800+ club player. I think I can reach it bu ...[text shortened]... ne analyzing.

Have to disagree there KMAC. At the very most I'd say 25%.

The Average game from 1800-2700 last 40 moves (hardly endgame territory).

I'll grant you that beginners games have a few more endings because
one of the players does not realise they are totally lost.
But you do not need to study endings to win an ending 3-4 pawns or a piece up.

I can however say that 100% of your games will go through an opening
and (hopefully) 95% of those will reach a Middle Game.

So approx 20% of that 95% will go into an ending and that is because
either player will tranpose into an easily won ending.

The lad has only limited of time to study. Don't ask him to waste
it studying endings. The Best Middle Game player will win the game.

Endings are won (or lost) in The Middle Game.
A bad opening can be recovered in the Middle Game.
