"Winning Chess Endings" by Yasser Seirawan - as with all of his books it's clear, accessible and teaches you what it says on the cover. The strategy book takes you through master games wheras the endings book covers the basic checkmates plus chapters on: - King and Pawn endings, Queen and Pawn endings....Rook v's Minor peices...Bishop verses knight...to name a few of them...
