It's not mate after Rd4. The king goes to f5. Also, this isn't a forcing variation. Mate in X is supposed to be forcing regardless of the opponent's moves.

If that was too hard here is an easier one:
[fen]rn1qkbnr/ppp2p1p/3p2p1/4p3/2B1P1b1/2N2N2/PPPP1PPP/R1BQK2R w KQkq - 0 1[/fen]
This is 4 moves after start, and white can mate in 3.(Hint: This mate is also known as Legall's Mate)
I'm gonna guess on this one.

Nf3xe5 Bxd1
Bxf7+ Ke7
Nd5#

Is that it?

Guys:

While I was at Nationals, I ended up with a game like this. Find mate in one (its easy, but pretty cool):

I don't know what the freak a FEN game is... so basically I will give you the game up to the move. And this game is rather cool, cause I was down a whole minor piece, and I came back and won. But it was his 2 rooks and bishop to my rook, bishop, and knight. In the midst of my game, there was a blunder on my part which would of resulted in a win for him. I will show it to ya if you can't find it throughout the game. I will do a narrative throughout the game.

I'm black in this game:

1. e4... e5 (boring..)
2. Nf3... Nc6
3. Nc3... Nf6
4. d3... Bb4
5. a3... BxNc3
6. bxBc3... d6
7. h3... 0-0
8. d4... Qe7
9. Bd3... d5
10. exd5... Nxd5
11. 0-0... e4
12. Bc4... e3 (shoulda played Nb6, cause that still threatens both pieces)
13. Qd3... exf2 +
14. Rxe2... Nf6
15. d5... Ne5
16. NxNe5... QxNe5
17. Bf4... Qe4
18. Rd1... QxQd3
19. cxQd3... Rd8 (pawn undoubling... and Rd8 was a BAD move 🙁)
20. Re2... Kf8 (protecting the homeland... one pawny at a time 😀)
21. Bxc7... Rd7 (and Rd8 bites me in the arse)
22. d6... RxBc7 (my inactive pieces cause the need for sacrifice)
23. dxRc7... Bd7 (OWWW. This is bad!)
24. dRe1... Rc8 (get rid of ze pass pawny)
25. Re7... Be8
26. Bb3... Ng8 (find ze error)
27. 7Re5... Bd7 (must destroy ze pawny)
28. a4... Rxc7 (and the pawny got pwned)
29. Rf1... Be8 (still protecting ze homeland... sigh)
30. fRe1... Bd7 (ze panzy)
31. Bxf7... KxBf7 (hmm. My king doesn't like the breeze of the open air)
32. Rf1+... Nf6 (ze wonderful pin)
33. g4... Kg8 (ze pawny is constipated... he is pushing)
34. g5... Ne8 (still pushing... wizout an effect)
35. g6... hxg6 (I ended ze pawny's troubles 🙂 )
36. Rg5... Rc6 (okay... done wiz ze commentary)
37. h4... a6
38. h5... gxh5
39. Rxh5... Rxc3
40. Rd5... Bxa4
41. Rd8... Rc7
42. Ra1... Bc6
43. Ra5... Kf7
44. Rd4... Bb5
45. Rf4+... Kg8
46. Ra2... Rc3
47. aRf2... Nf6
48. Rh2... Bxd3
49. fRh4... Nh7
50. Rd4... g5
51. Rd7... b5
52. Ra2... b4
53. Rxa6... BxRa6
54. Rd8+... Nf8...
55. Rd6... Re1+
56. Kh2... Kf7
57. Kg3... b3
58. Rf5+... Ke7
59. Rf2... Rc3+
60. Kg4... Ne6
61. Rb2... Bc4
62. Rb1... Be2+
63. Kf5... Be3+
64. Ke5...

Find the checkmate. Really easy. But I hoped you enjoyed the game overall.

I don't think that's a forced mate (Nxe5 etc.). But you are right that white can mate in 3.
