It was not actually as inept as you think - I quite enjoyed it. Although, having said that, black should really have won with his first attack instead of managing to lose both queens...

My current style has resulted in a number of games nearly as bad, or good depending on whether you want good chess or enjoyable chess.😵

Yeah, if he would have taken the knight to promote, white would have been in a world of hurt.

Isn't that saying the same thing? Besides, I think g1 should get a ? and h1 gets a !, maybe even !!.

Yes, "taking the Knight to promote" I was misunderstanding. I thought you wanted to "take a Knight" as the promotion piece on g1 (with check though, but seems to lead to nothing). I wanted to say "just take a Queen to promote the pawn to!"

But, of course, you meant take the Knight on h1 and promote to Queen with check => 23. ... gxh1=Q+. So you were suggesting the same move as me.

Why would you have resigned to a 1300? Unless I missed it, he was only down a couple of pawns and 1300's usually don't know how to push this advantage.

As that game demonstrated, all he needed was a good knight fork.

When I play against lower rated opponents (1400 or less) I always go for most agressive opening (KG, traxler, anything that decides the game within first 20 moves). So you do not lose your time. Practical and fast.

I think he is screwing around on purpose. His highest rating is in the 1700's and is toying with lower rated players seeing what he can get away with. At least that's what it looks like to me.

Black could have had a win (I think) with 20...gxf3+ e.p.

if Qxf3, Rg8+ and than

Ng3, h1Q or
Qg3, Rxg3

And if Kxf3, maybe something like Rh6, I don't have time to calculate everything but this continuation looks preferable.
