...defended myself?
In this game I did something terribly wrong, but where?
When and what should I have done about the attacking queen?
Game 659630
Is there perhaps even a counter I didn't see?

Or am I missing something? 😕

..ok so whats the lesson here...
Don't panic in close quarters?
Don't give up if you don't see a counterattack?
I don't know why I discarded Bf1 or if I even looked at it (*smacks himself som more*). I looked at Qg1. Did not find it to my liking :-(
Well... well...
(*smacks himself even more*)
I'll go sulk now.
(*takes his stick and heads for a corner to do some serious soul searching and penance*)
<a little later>
-hmm... That stick looks bigger... and it's dirty too...
*swaps his stick for the bigger one*
-Now lets get down to some real punishing.
*swings his big, dirty stick vigourously at his head*
-Ahh... Thats what I'm talking about!
*tries to whistle a mournful tune on cracked and bleeding lips*
Originally posted by chasparosMy guess would be: at first glance you thought it was inevitable mate, you got dissappointed 'cause you thought you were better(which you were) and you had spoiled your game,so you didn't look any further and resigned.Could that be what happened? It happened to me a few times 🙁

Lesson to be learned: no matter how grim your position looks, always keep a clear head and search for a solution to the (imagenary)problem.
Don't take it too hard. It's a learning experience, next time you won't resign so soon. Not so long ago,I had to learn the exact same thing 🙂

They are much appreciated.
*still banging a little though*
Your assessment of my feelings are right to the mark.
Will try be more calm in the future.
Thanks.
Well, resigning was wrong, of course, but the first move that I did not like very strongly was g3.
It weakened king's pawn line unnecessarily. After correct Bf1 (again), white bishop is enough to counter attack of black bishop and queen. Square g2 is covered, and there are no other weaknesses.
I think Bf1 was in your mental blind spot for some time, not only when you resigned. It happens.
