this site gives me many lines to play assuming my opponent plays like a gm,

but a much more interesting site would show the method of destroying an opponent when they step off the safe middle path.

is there any such site?

if there is not then how is this best done?
- perhaps just google the moves when they step off the known games?

ps to my many opponents: dont worry i almost always just play what momentarily comes into my head and cant be bothered looking too hard.

Disclaimer: I'm far from the strongest player around, but I think I have been learning from this site.

What I find that I mostly learn from the "Chess Opening Explorer" is themes. It's great for exploring how certain kinds of opening lend themselves to attacking or defending. My opponents rarely play like GMs and I don't either, but when I use the COE to explore the opening du jour, I find myself looking at a number of lines and trying to see what kinds of common themes run through them. In some ways a good commentary would be better, but in others, I find myself looking at an opening and gradually seeing what works with the "why" following along as I see how the IMs and GMs exploit the weaknesses of some of the alternatives.
