If you have enough proofs that someone cheats, please send feedback to the admins - it works!!

Cheating is indeed horrible behaviour, as is just leaving a 1 min blitz game where your are stand worse with less time than your opponent (but you're not losing) without even saying gg or resigning 😉

Sorry anyway & let's play another one

What do you mean a couple 😛
There are a few that have been reported but still here months after the event.
Annoying but the only good thing is I will never play them.
Move as slow as you can. It's annoying, but it's the only way. I usually check the graph of my opponent before the game.

It takes time if they Mods are dealing with a known strong OTB player.
Better 99 cheats remain than one innocent good player is given the boot.
Originally posted by greenpawn34I completely disagree with this. It's not like they're being hanged or sent to prison for ten years, they're just being booted from an online chess site. I'd be happy with a system with, say, 5% false positives.

Top 1 Match: 285/441 (64,6% )
Top 2 Match: 359/441 (81,4% )
Top 3 Match: 394/441 (89,3% )
in games against top-notch opposition for one suspect player who only took up this wonderful game about 3 years ago & is now over 2200 on this site!
The analysis was sent in November last year.
Clearly either these objectively chosen games have results that are not indicative of cheating, or there is a lack of focus in the moderation system, or the player in question has some sort of special dispensation.

Hmmmmm 5%....
I see your point there FL, but if we had a really good OTB player
on this site who never cheated would it be OK to kick him off the site
because....
....well because of what?
The obvious cheats stand out like flashing lights,
Squelch and Co. have brought quite a few of the lads down.
These users are jokers, naughty school boys.
But a known strong OTB player.
Someone who has studied the game, giving up their spare time
in pursuit of the game.
A chess player. Someone like me and you.
No, if there is any doubt then we must fall on the side of doubt.
OK there are cheats here.
But there are many many more genuine players.
Simply go through my games to see how many one and two move
traps my opponents fall for that even the weakest box would spot.
(sorry guys, but that is a back-handed compliment).
I agree we make such a big deal about it and all that has
happened is they are banned from an online chess site.
But this innocent chess player will have enjoyed playing chess here.
One day he pursing his hobby, next day he called a cheat and
kicked off the site thus besmirching all his well played clean games?
No that would be wrong.
I've up the anti.
Better 999 cheats remain than one innocent player gets the boot.
Squelch: Since you submitted that guy will have played more
games v higher and better players - run his numbers again,
I'd expect higher results, then submit another FPT.
Wonder if anyone has got a graph at what grade cheats are often banned.
Something like this:
1400 - 10%
1500 - 10%
1600 - 10%
1700 - 10%
1800 - 10%
1900 - 10%
2000 - 20%
2100 - 20%
Totally made up figures - just interested to know what is the average
grade of the banned player is........... Anybody?

I mean - come on..! On every single move I looked at there was a 2 out of 3 chance it would be Fritz's top choice for those games when they went out of chesslive.de
That is simply humanly not possible in many objectively chosen (ie all from 1 or 2 tournaments) games.
I wonder what the top 3 match threshold is - perhaps a Game Mod can enlighten us???
It must be +90% because I know a player who's been analysed more than virtually anyone else who matches higher & still plays on this site.
