Does diagram training work?

The idea is to take a tactics book and solve the puzzles directly from the book...do not set the position up on the board...just solve and solve untill the pages turn to dust..

works for me i find setting upa board too time consuming. it depends if you can see the moves in your head.

i prefer solving from diagram....

Why do you need 2 of the same threads, you already got answers. Do the work and figure it out for yourself now or at least bump your old thread with a progress update from your end.

of course it works. why wouldnt it work?

depends really, for 2-3 movers - do it from the book, for a more complex combo - set up the boarrd, well.... that's what I do. But at least 'try' to do them in your head - it will stand to you.
