Castling is for cowards.
I'll challenge you with those rules. You're time controls (not 1/0), you're choice of colors. You can't castle.

You're a brave man indeed!

You win by default.

There should be some extra "No Scaredy Rules" for RHP games.

No Castle
No En Passant
No Promotions

These rules are for weaklings. The only reason I ever do these things is because I know some coward I am playing is going to do it. They should be outlawed so all games are played on an even field.

You forgot the first move of a pawn, moving two squares. 😞

Such kind of claims are for people who have serious problems to understand chess.

I never thought castleing was looked down upon. The middle of the board is most important, so which would you rather have? Your King or your Rook? I don't castle all the time, but I'm not against it.

I've never gotten a pawn to the other side of the board with the games I've played here, though I have tried. If I think I may need my queen/rook back to win, I'll promote.

I will say one thing. If I'm playing on an actual board at home, and already have my queen, I'm more likely to get my fallen rook back than an extra queen. For some reason, chess boards don't come with extra queens and rooks.

Back to castling: I see no problem with it. It's a legal move, and there are even rules surrounding it to make it more difficult.

GinoJ has his tongue firmly planted in cheek. Some get it and some don't. I thought it was pretty funny. Keep it up, Gino!

I'll second that comment.

Most often an upside-down Rook is used as a Queen.

Many of the sets sold nowadays come with extra queens.
