Roadkill you were simply losing after 14...Nc6 and you missed several opportunities for Bxf7+

And your opponent went pawn hunting on move seventeen when instead he had 17...Na6.

All in all a terrific blitz game πŸ˜€

Ahahahahah.

Actually I didn't play Bxf7 because if the king moved I just had won a pawn. If I hadn't had lost the right to castle I'd certainly go for it but the way things were I just wanted to see if I could dazzle him some how.

Spin off thread by the way πŸ˜›

And nice to see you back.

Glad to be back.

A word of wisdom. Winning the f pawn in these positions is never just winning a pawn. πŸ˜‰

Hi

Just played over this and went back to here.

I was looking at the 'obvious' Bxf7+ (White played Ng5)
when I suddenly saw 1. Bxf6 exf6 2.Qd6! crushing.
Threats are Re1 or Bxf7+

A case of sitting on your hands even longer after you have seen the better move.

Nice find. πŸ˜€

That one I totally missed.

At this point was Bxf7 really a better move? Because Ng5 also wins a pawn and deprives black from castling...

Of course, it is always nice to go for mate and forgo the queen when you always have the flexibility of taking the queen each move πŸ˜‰

Good find GP.

I also noticed 8.Rc1!? After 8...Qxc4 9.Ne2! The queen is pinned.

Edit: and before someone comes on and ask "what about 8...Qxb2? That looks ok doesn't it?" I want to mention that the b pawn is taboo... You can figure out why for yourselves.

Hi.

it was not so much of a find, more of a stumble.
My eyes were fixed on that f7 square just like everyone else's.
I looked at Bxf6 after Bxf7+ Then I saw the Qd6 idea.

But I still thank you for the input.

Indeed, that wasn't really shunning the queen as the option always remained to take the queen. Nonetheless, it was a great job putting that mate together in a blitz game.

I'm at it again. Taking queens is a no-no for me... πŸ˜›

A classical Traxler! Congratulations!
White is traxeled as traxeled can be
White made all mistakes who white can make with a Traxler,
first of all white should have played Bxf7+ instead of Nxf7
2nd white should have played Kf1 instead of Kxf2
