But now I realize its a faulty thought process.
I do not ask myself the proper questions before deciding my next move. Just now I failed to see that a piece that was ungaurded and attacked on my opponents last move. It was a discovered attack, yet it was an obvious one. I just get wrapped up in my plans then I fail to ask what checks, captures, threats in 2 moves, do my opponents have.
If I dont do this at home or while at lunch and moving I usually drop a piece or fail to see that I have a piece won. I used to blame it on being distracted while playing from work. But now I realize this will always happen no matter where I'm playing from if I dont follow the correct thought processes.
Damn me to all hell!
Normally, I blame my many losses on my wife for distracting me. sometime I accuse one or both of my cats. Sometimes it's the bad weather, sometimes it's a nasty cold. Once I blamed it on sticky keys on my keyboard. On some occasions I believe I get up at night, get on rhp and make stupid moves in my sleep. I do not think I should be held responsible for these games and have discussed this with Russ, who judged that the games would have to stand, regardless of my alter personality moving the king in circles during the opening or writing obscure messages to my opponent. I have consulted my lawyer and Charles Klauthammer about this and am at present under their advisement. thank you for the opportunity to express my views.

Originally posted by WeadleyWhat i do when i decide on a move is i close the game rather than moving. Go to another game and think about that one for a bit. When you've looked around or come into the forum, go back and check the move. If you still can't find a reason not to play that move, then hit move 😉
