well, not exactly hacked... but i'm playing on my computer at work which i share with several other people, one of whom also plays RHP chess... so when he clicked on his email move reminder and the RHP site popped up, it popped up under my account and he didn't notice and MOVED in all my games. argh. ok... i'm getting over it. this is helping. just wanted to bitch.

has this ever happend to anyone?

are there safeguards against this, or do i have to strangle my dimwitted collegue?

Unless that one move gives your opponent checkmate in one.

I KNOW that one move can ruin a game, and it's unfortunate, but the co-worker hopefully isn't inept. If it was malicious moving, that could suck, but probably those moves were decent.

the moves were game-breakers, but they weren't even remotely within my plans. infact, one one particular game, a well placed bishop that was central to my plans was exhanged for a knight that was stuck in a corner. hey, it could end up that these moves were the best after all, but it's so Frustrating! in order to hopefully learn more, i usually study and work out my moves on my board at home, explore all my forseeable options, decide on a plan and move and bring it to work, log on and move. as fate would have it, i'd spent an unusually long amount of time on planning the moves that day when i discovered my moves had been already made. i think i excalimed some explitive much louder than i would've liked... but i feel better. ahhhh....

it could still work out... maybe your co-worker was cheating by using software... that would have at least found him (you) some better moves than he probably made...that's too bad about the bishop/knight thing...

While he was playing your moves, did he think that the games were maybe a little unfamiliar? Unless he's playing so many that he's not really keeping track...

how can he not realize they are not his games? wouldn't he have an idea of who he is playing? or. wonder about some of the moves? I have almost 40 games just on this site, and I still have an idea when I'm going to play a game that its my game.. seeing the board jogs my memory enough to know... I've never played my wife's games by accident.. even though many times I open the site and she was last logged in.

A complete safeguard would be not to play at work. 🙄

Your employer will really like this solution.😀

Clicking the logout button will work too.. so that the next time someone opens up the page, nobody will be logged in.
