ICC and computer games

I noticed it was getting longer and longer for a computer matchup over at ICC. When i went to Blitzen 2.6 seek graph i noticed there were 4 times as many players requesting a computer game (blue dots) What i want to know is, what is the big attraction for computer players. Are they testing their own program or what. Just curious.

Some,maybe even most,are housebots (run by ICC) ensuring there's always a game available at various TC's.
Others are people testing their creation.And I guess there'll also be a few who just hook up a commercial engine to see how it scores.
