At least User 305794 is gone. In Thread 113983 Forum Moderator states that one can give a fair play ticket "if[...] I can provide some evidence.

What kind of evidence can an amateur with no available engine to check with, provide?

Can I assume that Moderators check out players with steep rising graphs routinely or even continiously?

you don't have to show evidence, just say you suspect someone and explain why you think he is cheating

Guilty until proven innocent, should be the other way around, otherwise it can turn into a witch hunt with no witches.

WOW! Under 1600 for more than a year then gains 600 points in 6 months!? This guy should write a book on improving your game. It would be a bestseller!

Mocking the user in the forums is the best technique for getting obvious cheats booted from the site. You will probably get a forum ban though.

Not mocking. Just curious as to how it can be achieved. Who doesn’t want to improve by that much in so short a time. Could be other reasons for the increase though. Like taking games more seriously, or just plain old hard work!

Seriously though, say you are 1600 and you take on a 2100. Unless the stronger makes multiple obvious catastrophic blunders, what are the chances? And say you win once, twice, but our friend here has won the vast majority of games. I have to get my hands on the books he reads.

Just received my first warning from the forum moderator. I'll end my subtle accusations.

No, you can't.

Bringing a steep rising graph to their attention is helpful. Pointing out games before their recent improvement where they played like complete patzers and contrasting it to their GM play now is another strategy. You could ask in a clan or club forum if someone has an engine and has the knowledge and time to run some of their games.

Good luck.

pointing out silly strategical decisions a real strong player would likely never make. like with a theoretically won ending a real strong player would almost certainly know, but drew because his engine hit horizon effect and couldn't see beyond material equality.

then again, I remember at least one opposite case where a cheater ranted about a doubled pawn being a losing positional error against a player of his caliber. it was pretty funny.

Thanks for pointing me to that site. Unfortunately I fear if I joined I would just end up $50 poorer, not 600 points stronger. :'(
