Sometimes I would like to put a newspaper diagram onto the monitor screen, then play out different lines. As the RHP screen is set up it would take the better part of the day just to set the position. If there were a 'clear all', if the screen stayed in set-up mode until a RETURN was made, if a couple of other things, that I am not clever enough to explicate, were done then we would have a very useful tool. I'll float the idea in a forum, I'll bet there will be some who are enthusiastic.

I've just finished reading The Art of the Middle Game where Keres gives extensive analysis of many variations which would be pretty tiresome to set up and go over on a board. As you say, though, a bit difficult to set up a position from scratch.

As a separate point... I wish there was a 'copy and paste to the notebook' function after you've explored a variation. Of course, it could be that I'm being a bit lazy!
