So basically, I am getting sick of just sitting around 1500-1600....I want to start moving up! I am wondering if any players rated above me would like to work with me? I ask in humility because I know I've tried tactics, openings, midgame books, and endgame books...and I'm stuck.
Preferably someone like 1800-2000 who wouldn't mind playing a couple unrated (or rated if they really wanted to) games. Maybe one of the guys in the forums who just love analyzing games...anyways, afterwords we discuss the game.
I understand I'm asking someone to give, but my hope is that I can make a few friends and perhaps provide them with a challenge as I grow as a chess player
so...any takers?
Originally posted by Macpowow, thanks, I'll send a couple unrated games (unless if you would prefer rated)....perhaps if this is a big hit, we could open a clan/club in which we try to pair people up? Kinda like a big brother-little brother program?
Me!!! with great pleasure!!
By the way, I would be very pleased to do this with a couple of other players, if they want to do so! just PM me...
EDIT: if any others are willing to work with me as well I would love it: the more advice the better
That would be an interesting idea, I think! so if other people want to join...
we are experimenting some kind of serial chess: we play the same opening on three boards, with slight delay from one board to another, so that when a mistake is made, when can change the variation. That way we can compare good and bad variations... and improve immediately!
Originally posted by Macpoyeah I am enjoying it a lot! it gives me a chance to find a critical point in a opening where I am unsure as to the right move, and do it one way...analyze, try it another....basically it allows me to apply concept imediatly rather than "oh I'll have to remember that next time"

Although our rating, and game history has been rather equal.
I've grown quite alot lately, and would like to continue to become a stronger player.
