This is a game I played against a stronger opponent. On move 8 I saw an option to trade my knight for 3 of his pawns. Of course, points wise this is material equality but I also saw that after the exchange I end up with a pretty solid pawn structure. I had literally all of my pawns, none of them doubled and no pawn islands.
So I completed the exchange and focused much of my game around maintaining my pawn structure and position.
On move 18 had an intimidating chain runing across the board and cramping his pieces in. He then sac'd a bishop for a pawn, which left me with an actual material advantage (2 pawns up), plus I still felt I had pretty good pawn structure.
It ended with a resignation.

Originally posted by AudreyxSophieHe's quite challenging for me and prior to this game his rating was a into the 1500's. He won the first game. I had a forced draw but miscalculated thinking I could squeeze a win, even though I was down material.
I don't believe he was stronger, he had just an higher rating.
Good game, tought.
We just started game 3
