by the way, do you know this opening? To be honest, I don't have a clue, and my database tells me black is overwhelmingly better! What is going on?

this is the opening I play, so I should of chose something else maybe...

and I do consider this the critical reply to beat the bird. d5, Nf6, g6, Bg7, and 0-0(or at least the kind of bird I play.) black has limited whites dark squared center control, didnt let him trade his light squared bishop, and hasnt allowed a tempi gain like a lot of lines lead to.

edit: AxS did it 🙂

If you love the dutch, you may love the bird, but the bird is harder to less, because of that tempio, you don't know when to adopt the stone wall, or when to not.

I tend to never do a stonewall. this is the hardest line to do what I like, but I aim to castle queenside and get in a g4 pawn push if everything does well. of course the stonewall is still a great way to get to equality as well, maybe less risk

you need to be varied, there is times, when adopting stonewall is good, and there is other times, where being classical is good, you can also the

Quick Ne5 vs everything strategy.... the leningrad is hard, very hard to play... don't try too much..... but Qe1 is the way..

there stonewall where you castle queenside too.

the bird can allow both strong kingside attack and queenside attack.

I am just so happy to have won a tournament agaisnt such an opposition.very,

The real test to the bird are etheir ....f5 or c5... for me.

yeah I try to make things not too systematic, going to test situations where stonewall is possible soon..

have you considered 1.f4 f5 2.e4!
its a froms gambit but a tempi up, and the extra pawn move is on the side youre attacking
