Sorry if my post sounds like sour grapes - let me explain 2 things.
Firstly I have just lost to him/her - no problem with that, they won because they played better than me and made less mistakes. I have no problem with their chess playing at all.
Secondly - They have had the vacation icon up for weeks and weeks yet move everyday - either they are deliberately abusing the vacation setting or they are playing from a luxury Round the World Cruise - Hey now I do taste sour grapes 😀
seriously Sfinx - you are good stop hiding behind the vacation Icon you are better than that

Originally posted by davyI don't agree with you on this one. The vacation settings are for players who are on vacation or something, so they don't have time to move. There are enough players who don't time people out when they have their vacation settings on. Putting on your vacation settings and still keep moving, is not the way to use your vacation settings. If you do this, you lie about you're not able to move, and so you are abusing the vacation settings, just because some nice guys (or ladies) won't time you out.

Before a couple of months ago, it wasn't possible to move with your vacation settings on. Russ introduced this for people who just came back from their holiday or whatever and had to move each game. If they have to put their vacation settings off before they started to move, lots of games can be timed out before they are ready to move this particular game.
A good way to fix this problem is to introduce a "catching up" setting, so players could put this on when they are back to RHP and reduce their incredible number of waiting games. Then vacation settings could be turned back to "not able to move while on vacation", and maybe it could be done that you can only put on your catching up setting when you just turned down your vacation setting or something like that.
Originally posted by tejoI don't know if it is possible on RHP but on Game knot there's a limitation of moves while a player is on vacation:if he make more than 5 moves with vacation flag, the original time control is reinstated and if his time ended you can time him out.

I think that things like this are a part of the game. With live chess, you have people that slam down thier pieces, slam the clock (especially if it's your Jerger), write down that they on thier notation won 5 move into the game, etc. All are legal, but unethical. I think online we have people that wait to the very end of the time control, use databases, move slowly, ask friends for help, etc. All of which could be considered cheating. In reality, it is the online version of unethical distractions. I get very frustrated with some of these players and there has been thread after thread about most of it, but I think we need to accept it as part of the game and don't let ourselves be distrated by it.
