I saw this mentioned by Josh Waitzkin on the Chessmaster game on ps2 (I'm probably 1 of 3 people in the world who still play that game) and have tried to find more info about it but I haven't seen anything.......

I've heard 4.c4 ironically referred to as the "Waitzkin Variation"...I swear there's another name for it though, I just can't remember.

If memory serves Waitzkin (and Ashley?) favoured the line with Nge2 rather than Ng1-f3. OTB I've found this line very popular with junior players up to about 160 BCF (something like 2000 ELO depending on how you do the conversion). The last half dozen times or so that I've faced a junior playing 1. e4 this is how the game's gone.

I don't know the opening has a widely accepted name, though I'm sure somebody somewhere has called it something.
