Is vacation flag really respected?

I was thinking it after seeing my clan mate Croc's profile:he's on vacation and he had a rating change from 1156 to 892 due to several timeouts,in only one week:he will be out for another week and maybe when he will be back to RHP he'll have a 700 rating.
Is possible to have a feature that stops opponents to claim T/O if you are on vacation?
I guess this can be a very useful feature for players who plan medium long holydays,or simply can't log in for awhile..............

It isn't useful because the abuse would be great. You can put on your vacation sign, and relax and think about the moves for several weeks, play them, and put on your vacation sign again. Quite annoying for the opponent.

i propose the just like when offering a draw - both sides agree to it - there can be an option to pause the timebank and it needs to be approved by both players

Could be that he was playing tournaments matches. I've just come back from the hospital and i lost many matches because i lost a lot of mathces in tournamnets, but the opponents in clans' matches or challenges respected my "vacation status. They were kind and correct. I appreciated a lot it and i thanks them. In tournaments TO is automatic when time left is finished. This are rules :-)
