On this site anyone can claim to be anybody. Not so long ago there was a guy claiming to be Yasser Seirawan and half the site seemed to believe he was genuine, despite not being able to play chess!

Although, to be perfectly honest, there is no way for us to know whether DT is the real thing i.e. the guy who beat Kaspy in a simul.
Perhaps the guy I played in the simul wasn't the real Kasparov? That would explain why I beat him!
The simul organisers paid Kasparov about £10,000 for doing the display. That's a pretty good inducement for someone to impersonate him.

Jean Hebert held himself out as being the Jean Hebert.
Interesting thought about his clan leader paying.
