it doesn't mean you have to play like pig 🙁

As usual, I tend to score worse against an 1200 than an 1600.

Are 1200 players better ? 😲

I just won against very solid opponent without too much problems. But those 1200 are dangerous !

Well, that's one excuse if you happen to lose.

I thought you played this game rather lethargically but although your opponent was lower rated he/she did play a decent game. Got the good bishop out of the opening and spotted the sac too so kudos to him/her.

I actually played some games with him before I was always winning, so I gave him advice to move slower, think longer, blundercheck etc.

After that he took me 28 points 🙁

Fast learner !

The best 1200 shockers come from the jerks who have highest rating of 1600-1700+. As per usual, I go in and underestimate the opponenet as stated before and then proceed to have me arse handed to me....:'(

Just finished a game that fits in nicely...

No saying that an extremely focused 1500 player can't produce a perfect game of chess...

I think his only error may have been accepting that draw... he may have been able to win that endgame.

Ah, you needed just 8 points to 2000 🙁

6 😉

I'll make it.. lots of won games.. no lost (well... actually, my traxler may have been refuted... I'm getting beat down the 'perfect' line 🙁)

I did just start work on the ih8sens variation 😉

Check out the open invites 😀

Another good example; this was a obvious draw against weaker opponent because I wasn't paying attention to locked pawn structure. When I realized it is a draw I was so frustrated I ripped the position open, sacrificing my two pawns. I calculated that he can win but I knew that his single mistake would cost him a game and I was counting with it.

Counting on your opponent mistake it is very lazy and bad habit which is almost always severely punished...

Here's that game - it cost me 27 points:

I still lose a lot easier to an 1350 than to an 1600. Weird at first glance, but it is not strange at all. I play at 30% of my strength against weaker opponents and I can't help myself 🙁
