Is there a mate for this situation?

Unless the K+B is driven to the edge of the board and separated, they are fine. K+N is where you get into trouble.

You'd think that after 100,000 moves he'd learn this stuff... sigh

Just give you imagination, are we talking about your game or about any situation possible ?

Not sure I can say this, but If you go in the wrong corner, you will lose. it depends on the last bishop....

White sqaure, dark square corner and dark square, white square corner. for the king. unless, bad day for you.

I play hundreds of games and move fast. Why don't you challenge me and 'learn' me something, or get schooled yourself.

I was not talking about the game heinzkat posted. I ran into the situation playing OTB. I am talking about any situation.

no talking about games in progress. yours is. if someone gives you an advice about your on-going game, you'd be breaking the Terms Of Service, and can be banned. you're allowed to consult books on the matter, but not ask a third party about it.

so no talking about games in progress.

Look at these. It may give you a hint on the game, but this is general theory, on bishop and rook ending. And try to guess, which on lose and which one win after Rg1+/Rg1

or

Black to move in both, but not both are winning.
I won't tell any more, find the rest youself.
P.S. These fen are not easy to find out, PM me once you have finished the game and I'll show you, but if you are intelligent, you will find out youself.

I should not post this, but I am curious... ho well, the evil is done. Not sure he will understand.

If the game was in-progress, asking for advice is a no-no. But it's completed now.

The final position is a win for Black. After Bd1 blocking the check, the rook loses a move with Rh1 for example - now when the K moves the B is lost.

RvB and RvN is drawn with best play (for normal positions). However you can play it out if you like - it's fairly easy to lose your way defending the weaker side.

See my post to which are the losing and winning position...

Too bad Black missed that. losing a move often missed.

Edit : that is a jugdement, I would have give up.
