Hi everyone, I've recently decided to take up the King's Gambit as part of my opening repetoir and I was looking through some opening databases when I came across this :

Does anyone play this line? It looks really interesting to play and I've played many similar sacs like this in blitz games (sac the knight to open the f file.)
Originally posted by DfthdI play it quite often, it's fun 😀

Originally posted by DfthdHeh, same line I played 30 years ago when the Flint chess team held a match against the Saginaw team. I was on board 2 of a 4 man team. I wish I could say I won, but the game ended in a draw. I gave the line up shortly after that.

While it's fun to play that junk, Masters won't play it for either side anymore. What's that tell you about the whole line?
Originally posted by arrakisThat I can play it because I'm not a master?=D lol j/k but really, at my level its not something to be concerned about simply because on some grand scale it doesn't work out.
