IM Krush takes down Akopian, and swindles Korchnoi all the same day! She'll be GM soon enough. Does anyone have a link to her game with Korchnoi? Just wondering why it wasn't newsworthy to Chess Life. I suppose because Akopian is a new hopefull and Korchnoi is past his prime, though the man still plays some brilliant chess.
ps. Sorry, but obviously Chess news is slow in getting to me. 😛

I can't find the article though

He deserves it for behaving that way. Of course, I think she'll have to make it to board one.

Akopian is a very talented yougster with a great future ahead of him.
If my memory serves me right he is at least in his mid thirties,
One of the best games in Gibraltar for me was Akopian-Kuzubov (now that is a talented youngster)
A beatifull sacrifical gem
Originally posted by Fat LadyVery true, I read in one of the latest numbers of NIC that Korchnoi began to be verbally abusive after his game against Krush.
Korchnoi has had problems with women players before. Remember Sofia Polgar vs Korchnoi from several years ago? (Korchnoi lost on time)

It is said that Krush her friend Paëhtz suggested a move for Irina after the game, after which Korchnoi replied, "No, No, this move is far too good for her (to find)"

also is it said that Korchnoi said to Krush after the game that it is nice to know theory but that she should also learn to play chess...
A very weird comment since Irina stood worse after the opening
