I see where you are coming from. I meant that by playing blitz games with an opening, it will allow you to see where pieces should go, and what there functions are. Playing blitz will definitely not help you learn specific opening lines, but i think they will help with the ideas and plans behind them.

Well, that isn't completely true. I learned all of my lines playing blitz. The thing is, you have to have someone who knows the lines sitting over your shoulder, which my coach was. And once you learn the lines, playing blitz with them will add to your knowledge of the opening like you said.
