There was a great deal on the net when I bought them.Prolly over now🙁
I had them for 110$ + Yasser Seirawan's dvd + a cd rom database of over 2.5 million games + master chess professional 4000.
Probably the best deal of my life 😵
Check out www.chess4less.com for their major dvd deal.See if it's still on.

The concepts are okay. For example, topic 1, DVD 1: If you are weak in a particular opening and you cannot transpose to one you know, learn to recognize the sharp moves. If your opponent introduces that one, he knows that line, just know how to get out of it safely.
Topic 2, same idea as paragraph above, substitute 'traps' for 'sharp moves.'
Like virtually all chess instruction, however, the teacher (Roman) has no idea how to teach. The only real teaching I have ever seen in chess instruction are: Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess (programmed learning format, this particular book is mostly endgame and checkmate puzzles), various other books of tactical puzzles, and a computer program for kids by Maurice Ashley. Especially worthwhile are Ashley's discussions of weak squares, focal points, and lines of attack.
Chuck
Well,I've watched volume 1.The contents are okay.Very intresting stuff, but I have to agree to some extent with Chuck.Roman doesn't manage to bring it in a pleasant way.Often he is explaining something, then thinks of some sideline and goes astray, returns to the original idea, goes astray again and then sometimes skips a part in returning to the main idea again. This can get very confusing at times.Though I think the main problem is not his teaching ability, but the trouble he has with the english language. He is often searching for the right words to explain the ideas.I know how that's like,I have the same problem, but it could have been easily filtered out though.I'm surprised they didn't do that,it would have made it much more smooth.I also noticed that the examine board doesn't always show what Roman is explaining. It is often a bit tardy.Makes it difficult to follow,as you can imagine.
All things considered,I think they are well worth the money. After all it is about the chess knowledge, not about aesthetics.
