The Linares Super-GM tournament 2007 started yesterday. The only decided game was Carlsen - Morozevich; Carlsen won. Nice to see him back in form.

I logged into fics at around 4 am, and saw the last move by chance. 🙂 today I'm gonna be there earlier...

Do you mean Carlsen? I dont think that his win was only luck. He played that game very well.

Chess tournaments appear to have decreased in number. When did Adams or Polgar play in a tournament lastly?

Yes. Only time trouble mistakee didn`t let him win. Also I like Ivanchuks play. He played well agains Leko making hungarian to use his defence skills and against Topalov his original novelty in Najdorf allowed him to get position in which Topalov had to defend (which Topalov dont like to do) and won.

Topov was obviously under a lot of pressure, but he blundered a knight in his game against Ivanchuk:

Adams was in the Gibraltar tournament and I would have thought that he'd have been disappointed with his performance as he was the highest rated player by far but finished a whole point behind the winner, Akopian.

It only means that he doesnt play so good in positions where he must hold on against strong pressure.

Wow, Magnus got another win in round 4, against Ivantchuk (after losing against Anand in round 3)! Today he's playing Topalov, should be an interesting game.
