    Any suggestions? I'm thinking Caro-Kann for 1.e4, no clue for 1. d4.

I guess I'm looking to something that doesn't have TOO many variations, although I know most defenses quite a few. I want something that will avoid draws and has fairly sharp lines, but nothing too insanely complicated. I know, I'm picky. 😛 Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks to everyone in advance.

Unfortunately sharpest openings has large amount of lines. Maybe Pirc (against 1.e4) and Dutch/KID (against 1.d4) would suit you.

it seems you have a plan for e4....so I guess
against d4....if you don't want alot of variations...I think the Nimzo-Indian and the Bogo-Indian combo are similar, cover most vartiations, but doesn't contain TONS of theory

My personal recomendation is the Dutch (leningrad) but there is sizeable theory there

Actually, the Nimzo has a LOT of theory, it's just that it's not as critical as a Dragon for example.
