Approximately 1 year ago I helped lraonne (User 102346) for some time with his chess game. His rating fluctuated around 1250-1400 at the time we started (late august 2007). I helped him for about 3 months. Currently his rating averages around 1500, and hasn't been below 1399 since october 2007. He thought I was doing a good job the few times I asked him for an evaluation.
Recently I got interested in this again because of amolv06's thread.
What I ask:
- your rating must be between 1300 and 1500. Below 1300 I have the feeling you're not that serious about chess, above 1500 I think you can figure the most things out by yourself. Ofcourse there are always exceptions, if you can convince me.
- a will to improve. I can't help you if you aren't motivated.
- on average 2 hours a week, preferable spread over several days - it won't work if you can only login once a week.
- you must speak fluent english. It won't work if the communication isn't good.
What's in it for me? Don't worry, I'm not asking a fee. It's just fun to me to help people, and this is also a good way for myself to work through some more basic chess concepts again.
PM me if interested. (I will supply more details then) Don't wait too long - I'm not going to take on a horde of players; 3 at most.
Originally posted by schakuhrI wish I could somehow show my rating to be 1500-. I could use a few tips on thinking technique. But I probably don't have enough time to make it worth your time anyway.
