I wish Magnus had been a little more animated in the discussion--this was a great opportunity for competitive chess in the mainstream media and he didn't do much to dispel the unfortunate and inaccurate notion that chess players are boring nerds.

Yeah, I wish he could have interviewed Nimzovich or Alekhine or Fischer. But Colbert could make an interview with a brick wall interesting. [Some would argue he just did?!]
