Me and Kinggg2 keep entering the same tournaments
and have had an ongoing battle with me as White playing the
probably unsound, Wing Gambit against his French Defence.
So far it's 3½ - ½ to me. This finished yesterday. It's a good one.
1. e4 e6 2. Nf3 d5 3. e5 {Here we go again.} 3... c5 4. b4 b6 {Usually Kinggg2 takes the offered pawn on b4.} 5. d4 Ba6 6. b5 Bb7 7. Be2 {Develop, get the King tucked out the way and then have a think.} 7... Nd7 8. O-O Ne7 9. c3 {This is going to have to get played sooner or later.} 9... Ng6 10. Bd3 {That's a better diagonal for Bishop. Not sure yet where the rest of the lads are going.} 10... Be7 11. Re1 {Put him off playing f7-f6.} 11... Qc7 12. Bg5 {Chopping my bad bishop for his good one.} 12... Ndf8 13. Nbd2 {I'll see if can get him to swap on g5. I like the idea of having a Knight on that square.} 13... Bxg5 14. Nxg5 h6 15. Nh3 {Stop him from play Nf4 and keeps the d1-h5 diagonal open and if needs be f2-f4.} 15... O-O-O {Good! I have the making of an attack there already.} 16. a4 {Probably my quickest move of the game. Tally Ho!} (16. Qa4) 16... c4 17. Bf1 {Being too clever. Already I am looking at Nxc4 or Bxc4 sacs I went here thinking it adds some protection to g2 in case the centre gets blown open with sacs. In hindsight I think Be 2 was better.} 17... Ne7 18. a5 {Onward..ever onward.} 18... Kb8 19. axb6 axb6 20. Qa4 {Looking good. Though here I could brought that h3 Knight back into play but my eyes were on Queenside and saccing on c4.} 20... Kc8 21. Qb4 {Making room to double the Rooks on the a-file.} 21... Nfg6 22. Ra7 {Another quick move. And my next move...} 22... Kb8 23. Rea1 {....was even qicker.} 23... Kc8 {Now if my Bishop was on e2 I could play Bf3 and Nxc4.} 24. g3 {The Bishop is going to g2 (so I can sac on c4) and a consoling bonus, the g3 pawn limits the g6 Knight.} 24... Kd7 {OOPS! not too sure what he should have played but that let's me loose.} 25. Qd6+ {25...Qxd6 26.exd6 I attack both the Knight the Bishop. The Bishop cannot move to protect the Knight and the Knight cannot move to protect the Bishop.} 25... Kc8 {But taking on d6 was better, though still very grim. Now I play a wee combo...} 26. Ra8+ {...when you have double Rooks on a file you are always looking out for these kind of shots.} Bxa8 27. Rxa8+ Kb7 28. Ra7+ Kxa7 29. Qxc7+ {I've won a Queen and Bishop for two Rooks.} 29... Ka8 30. Nxc4 {At Last! Black resigned. The finish can go something like this.} 30... dxc4 31. Bg2+ Nd5 32. Qxf7 Nf8 33. Nf4 {Black is all gummed up and losing more material.}

Remarkable game. I have never seen the wing gambit directed against the French.
