Did Morphy ever write anything about chess?An article maybe?
Or did he give a lecture that was preserved by someone else?

The Unknown Morphy by Sergeant (a companion volume to Morphy's Games Of Chess) has a section where Morphy supposedly annotates the Labourdonnais-MacDonnell match. The book's subtitle is Games, Writings, Biography, so that may be as close as you can get.
