    After 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nd2, is 3...c5 the most ambitious way to play the French? If I had to play like Tal, would this the move to play?

    I like the exchange variation, 1 e4 e6 2d4 d5 3 ed ed 4 c4

    Tal certainly enjoyed playing against advanced pawns with midgame tactical tries in the Benoni. Hard to imagine he wouldn't enjoy Classical Nf6 stuff.

    But really, I think he'd probably choose to essay ...c5 a couple moves sooner.
