For the very first time I managed to draw the beast (playing at full strength) in a fast game,15 minutes each.Think of it what you like,I'm proud π
Here's how it went:
1.e4 c5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.Bb5 Nd4 4.Bc4 g6 5.f4 Bg7 6.d3 e6 7.Nf3 Ne7 8.Nxd4 cxd4 9.Ne2 0-0 10.0-0 d6 11.Bd2 Qb6 12.Rb1 d5 13.exd5 exd5 14.Bb3 Bg4 15.h3 Bd7 16.g4 Rfe8 17.Ng3 Qf6 18.Qf3 a5 19.a4 Qh4 20.Kg2 Kh8 21.Be1 Qf6 22.Bd2 Qh4 23.Be1 Qf6 24.Bd2 Qh4 1/2-1/2
I'd rather not think what it would have done with more time π
Sir lot.
No I mean that I've never seen a computer play c5 before, I thought it was a bad move according to the computer. At least that's what the Chessbase site said after the Fritz-Kasparov matches. A friend of mine sent them an e-mail about why Fritz always replyed e5 to e4 or something, I don't know what move it was......

1....,e5 and 1....,c5 are it's main replies to 1.e4,in that order. It sometimes even plays 1....,Nf6 π² Never in a rated game though,I wonder whyπ
LivingLegend, I think (according to a friend who is up on these things) the theory is that it is bad for the computer to play a Sicilian against a top level GM because variations like the Keres attack are far beyond its search capabilities - it will always think White is worse because it cannot 'see' to the end of what for Kasparov would be an automatic attack.
I'd be interested to know whether this is right or not - do recall that Deep Blue played 2.c3 against Kasparov's Sicilian in their match, maybe for similar reasons.
Nice game π
