After 600+ games I had the pleasure to do this damned 4 moves mate Game 543484
Maybe it's not fair to post it here but I'm happy because I thought I could never have the opportunity to do it..........😉

This is the second post I've seen like this recently.

While I don't know piderman, I do know Ravello and have played him a couple times and respect him, but despite that, I think this is wrong. We all had to learn at one time or another, and I'm sure that we've all made bonehead moves that we're embarassed about.

Personally, I'd be a bit offended if someone posted one of my bad games on a chat board to make fun of. I'd hope that if I were a beginner, my opponents would be more considerate than that.

Online or not, RHP is still a community and you don't make friends by insulting your neighbours. No offence intended, Rav.

You're right, infact I specified that maybe (even without''maybe''😉 it's not fair, but it was a thing I ever wondered since I started playing six months ago.
I really apologize to my opponent,I'll never do that...........

P.s.:I never had the intention ''to make fun ''of my opponent

I just looked at that game, and I believe that is referred to as the 'scholar's mate'. (But I'm not an authority and could be wrong)

A 'fool's mate' only takes two moves.

I don't see any real problem with pointing it out to others. It was a public game, which means it's there for all to see anyway.

I didn't think you were bringing attention to it in order to humiliate your opponent, and it presents a valuable lesson to anyone just learning the game, showing a very quick and simple winning combination.

I've managed to lose games to that same combination or variations of it numerous times, even after I'd played enough games to know about it and watch for it.

I didn't mean to make Rav feel bad, and I understand that it can be a learning experience... but it can be an intimidating environment for a new player... hell, I've been on here for a year, and I'm STILL often intimidated by my opponents..

If the loser posted the game in the forum, I can respect that... but a winner posting the game may look like they're being mean-spirited... I just want everybody to be happy, I guess...

Anyway, I'll willingly admit that I've been on the losing end of BOTH piderman AND Rav's scenarios before. You gotta learn somehow not to expose that flank...

Sure, Ravallo did nothing wrong, It is good to see that these famous traps really come to life now and then. Public games are free to discuss (after they are finished).
I just think it is fair to inform your opponent when you bring a game to the forum. So he can participate and will not feel embarrassed afterwards.
