Playing e4 against such a player, you are almost certainly going to walk into his opening system.
I play the Alekhine and as black I would be very happy to see you play eXd. Nf3 is recommended, although f4 is very strong.
However against such a strong player I would have avoided alekhines and played something else. Alekhines defence has unusual qualities.

Thats pretty impressive and att his rating was just over 2200, 2230 or something. I think his score represents a lot higher level of play than his rating suggests.

The opening was a main line of the Alekhine's Defense, Exchange Variation and your first nine moves are faultless. Your 10. Bf4 is a mistake as it leaves your c and d pawns very vulnerable; better would have been either 10. Be3 to overprotect the d-pawn or 10. h3 to prevent Bg4. Your 11. Re1 drops a pawn, though saving it with 11. d5 is no picnic for white either. Your 18. d5 doesn't lose any additional material, but since you're already down material, it makes the game very easy for your opponent to play: exchange off most of the pieces, advance the central pawn roller and win the endgame. I would suggest a waiting move like 18. Re2 (intending 19. Rce1) and try to keep the game more complicated. Your 27. Kf1 is the beginning of a bad plan. Your only hope to save the game is to advance your queenside pawns as quickly as possible, starting with something like 27. a4 or 27. b4 and maybe the distraction of the queenside pawns will allow you to obtain a draw via a perpetual check scenario. By move 30, black can win the game as a matter of technique. I don't want to seem overly critical - given your limited experience, I think you played quite well and expect your OTB rating to rise soon.
