I looked briefly at Game 3502846 and you were just giving him pieces. I don't like g5 either, moves like that to drive the bishop away always end up badly, I find.

Even earlier than that, 7. ..h6 was bad (combined with the 8. ..g5 you mentioned, it weakens the King side). Better would have been 7. ..O-O.
Also, I think 10. ..Nxg3 would have been better than 10. ..Nxc3 (which actually helps white, because it strengthens white's pawn structure). Taking the bishop on g3 gets rid of white's very good bishop, which dominates an open diagonal. This will also double up white's pawns.
