I recently returned to playing on RHP ( I had played only one game previously). I guess my unorthodox opening spooked my opponent:

How do I get the game so people can click on it? (I'm an idiot, what else can I say?)

It's at the bottom of the post window. It says "Insert link to a game."

1...a6 followed by 2...h6 is the Creepy Crawly. IM Michael Basman wrote a booklet about it. Black usually follows up with 3...c5.

An Italian gentlemen named "Pafu" wrote a book called "The Center Game" in which Black plays ...a6 ...h6 ...e6 ...d6 ...Bd7 ...Be7 against virtually any White opening.

You can view the book in pdf format for free:

It's one of the best replies to 1.e4?? a6!! 2.d4?? h6!!! is very solid for black. Black takes away the crucial g5 and b5 points from the future invasion of the white knights.

The theory is still evolving. It's a very complex opening, it needs a lot of memorization of lines and opening theory knowledge.

I have read several books on it by GMs and IMs, it's just amazing.

Everytime I think about the 'Creepy Crawley" opening I get an immense thrill out of it.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Creepy Crawley gets a big workout at Lineares next year.

I think Nakamura is going to play it every game (even with White!) in the upcoming U.S. Championship.

The Creepy Crawley is clearly cutting-edge opening theory!
