After a 6-month layoff I'm resuming correspondence chess, but not here. I've spent too much time chatting on these forums and not nearly enough time studying.
Frankly I'm ashamed of my pitiful lack of progress and feel like a fraud!
Getting to 1800+ is going to require some serious work, and I lack the discipline to stay off these forums - so it's back to ICCF for me.
To greenpawn34 and others here who have given me advise and answered my many questions over the past few years I want to extend my sincere thanks. Your input has been much appreciated. I may drop in on occasion for a comment, but it won't be often. it's time to stop the pathetic excuses, admit that I'm not very good, and get to work.
The climb starts now.
@mchill
On the ICCF, as a matter of fact, all higher-rated players are using chess engines and powerful computers.
You can also try the GameKnot. It has a pretty fast time control (2 days per move). And they have closed their social forum altogether. About politics, etc, discussion is possible only in closed club forums.
@mchill saidCould it be that chatting with others might have been a more important skill to develop?

@chessgirlzzz saidOh, now -- please try to be kind, "Because we're Addamses."
@mchill
Did you seriously just announce that you're "back to playing chess" and it won't be here, but you mention some other place?
Why do I get the feeling that this isn't your first grandiose announcement reeking of "Delusions of Grandeur" 🤨
