I haven't played in an actual tournament in forever. Now ready to dip my toes back in but I'm not familiar with the terms. Can anyone explain these? "5SS, 40/80, SD/30 +30 (2-day option, rds 1-2 G/60 d10) and Entry fee: $118 , 3-day $123, 2-day $122 mailed by 8/13, all $130"??? Also, I had a rather low rating decades ago but am likely much better now. How does that fit in? I don't want to sandbag.

5 round Swiss System.
Time control: 40 moves in 80 minutes, followed by 30-minute sudden death, with a 30 second increment.
There is an option to play rounds 1 and 2 at game in 60 minutes, with a 10 second delay.

The sooner you send the entry money the cheaper it is.
They like to have an idea of how many people are coming.
You can always pay at the door when you get there but it costs more.

You won't be. 🙂 Just advise the organizer of your last rating and that it's old. The organizer should be able to look it up.
