Hi,
If you go to:
http://www.timeforchess.com/gamesexplorer/
You will find a whole database of games played on this site.
It's a pure goldmine.
Let us look at the first question. 2...f5 in the French.
The DB tells us this has appeared 24 in games v -1400 players.
and after the most popular choice 3.exf5 White has won 75% of these games.
Follow a game that has the moves you yourself might play
and see what happens. Does it give you ideas?
I liked White's opening play in following game and wondered what would
happen if Black played an early Qe7+ trying to get the Queens off.
Well some lad tried this and was knocked back in a very good game.
White netted a piece and a few pawns, chooped wood till he
saw a chance to trap a Queen, he baited the trap and Black fell into it.
Note the transpositon in the opening - the position came from
a Dutch Staunton Gambit.
Try and answer your other questions on the DB site.
If you see a move that you can't figure out why it was played then
come back, post the position and some of other lads on here will
only be to glad to help.
