This has got to be one of the hairiest games I have played in quite a while. I won with 2.4 seconds on my clock! This was played in a 5 0 time control. I was looking through Larsen's games before I played and was inspired....too many mistakes to count really. Luckily, more were on his side.

When I was playing, I was thinking to myself, "What happened to his center!? And how did I get mine!?" I wasn't really paying attention to it!

[Wh ...[text shortened]... hat happened to his center!? And how did I get mine!?" I wasn't really paying attention to it!
I am trying to learn the Larsen and it's like boot camp - awful things keep happening, but hopefully I'm learning something. So many transpositions...
I just had to defend this beast! I think I wanna learn this puppy myself, if only as a surprise weapon. Dropped a pawn early, managed to pull out of the hole with kingside shots.

Originally posted by lloydkYou have the book? That helps quite a bit really. Also, if you have a database or something, search for Larsen's games where he played the NLA. He plays it quite different than the book recommends, almost always using an early c4. I think the key thing to remember is that you have to punch back sooner or later. I like to just play natural looking moves, and just make sure to stay active.
